LAOS laser @ CCC camp

We are at the CCC camp. Our open source laser prototype can be seen in the hardware hacking tent. Every day about 13:00 we do a presentation about our project.

The PCB's for the LAOS laser are available at the camp as well. The sheets of the presentation are found here (note: 9 MByte PDF).

Update: most PCB's are sold or awarded to supporters of the project. We hope to see some converted systems soon!

About LaOS

The LaOS project strives to produce an open source environment for laser cutting.

We do not build laser cutters, but we convert existing machines by replacing the driver board with our own.

The project consists of:

  • Platform independent PC software to send files to your laser cutter
  • Embedded computer board to replace the driver board of your laser
  • Firmware for our embedded boards

The LAOS project was initiated by Peter Brier (KekkeTek), Jaap Vermaas (Fab Lab Truck), Jelle Boomsma and Siert Wijnia (Protospace).
