Another set of lasers made it across the channel

Bart Bakker from the miniFablab made a trip across the channel to HPC in the UK and transported some lasers (without electronics) for various people to use as LAOS laser.

If anyone is interested: he is willing to make the trip again if there are several people that need a laser. Mail bart [at] minifablab.nl or you can find him on the LaosLaser mailinglist.

About LaOS

The LaOS project strives to produce an open source environment for laser cutting.

We do not build laser cutters, but we convert existing machines by replacing the driver board with our own.

The project consists of:

  • Platform independent PC software to send files to your laser cutter
  • Embedded computer board to replace the driver board of your laser
  • Firmware for our embedded boards

The LAOS project was initiated by Peter Brier (KekkeTek), Jaap Vermaas (Fab Lab Truck), Jelle Boomsma and Siert Wijnia (Protospace).
